Ladue School District Horton Watkins High School Athletic Complex

The Ladue School District engaged our firm for the replacement of the Ladue Horton Watkins High School football field with a multipurpose artificial turf field. Significant upgrades include the addition of a 1,998-spectator grandstand with a press box and viewing area on the East side of the field, updated concessions and track, and the conversion of locker rooms into public restrooms. The Nielson Gymnasium entrance was also renovated as part of this project.

The new athletic complex features technological updates and considerations for the surrounding neighborhood. A new digital HD-type scoreboard is triple the size of the current scoreboard and allows for instant replays and advertisements. It does not require 24-hour backlighting, so it will only be lighted during events. The scoreboard is also situated facing the grandstand so the light doesn’t project to the neighbors during games.

A sound study also showed that noise levels on nearby properties from the new sound system may be somewhat less than sound levels from the existing one.
