After our firm completed a master plan of the Busch Student Center, Saint Louis University made the decision to convert a portion of the lower level into an Esports Gaming Lab. The Lab is home to the university’s varsity eSports team and is open for general student use when the team is not practicing.

Our designers met with university representatives, including the head of the Esports varsity team to develop a comprehensive space plan to meet their needs, mostly consisting of recreation space with some dedicated area for varsity computer game play. The Lab now features twelve individual gaming stations as well as three large wall mounted TV monitors.

The University had originally planned a more simplistic design that included basic painted walls and new, standard furniture. We worked with the university to incorporate branding, graphics, and color changing LED lights, and worked with suppliers to select gaming specific furniture. These design changes were accomplished within the original budget set by Saint Louis University and create a vibrant, exciting space that better suits their needs and draws crowds to the space.
