The Joinery

Transformed from a former 1945 laundromat-turned-brewery into Lakeland’s first food hall, The Joinery is a historic structure situated along the iconic Lake Mirror. This adaptive reuse project preserves the building’s industrial roots while introducing modern functionality, resulting in a vibrant destination for food, drink, and community connection. Inside, visitors are welcomed by a curated mix of offerings, including seven unique food vendors, a full bar, a retail space, and a restaurant-quality dining area—all under one roof.

Beyond its diverse culinary experience, The Joinery is designed to support a variety of social and private functions. The space includes two outdoor patio areas and a private indoor event and meeting room available for rental. A shared commercial kitchen and workspace, cleverly concealed behind repurposed shipping containers, provides operational support for vendors while shaping the layout of the public-facing areas. Exposed mechanical systems, a steel roof structure, and polished concrete floors contribute to the industrial design aesthetic, delivering a raw, functional look while maintaining cost-efficiency.

Today, The Joinery has become more than a dining destination—it is a beloved community hub and a key part of downtown Lakeland’s revitalization. The space hosts a range of recreational activities, social events, and weekly programs that invite locals and visitors to gather and connect. With its central location, thoughtful design, and flexible offerings, The Joinery continues to play a vital role in the cultural and economic fabric of the city.
