University of Nevada, Reno New Fieldhouse

The University of Nevada, Reno commissioned our firm, with H+K Architects, to complete conceptual design for a 79,000 SF fieldhouse with a 200-M track.

The University is in need of flexible space to accommodate both athletics and recreation users year-round.  The fieldhouse is designed multiple sports teams, including football, as well as club sports, intramurals and recreation users - both students and faculty.

The track infield has four multipurpose courts striped for several sports, including basketball and volleyball.  A Magic Carpet system was incorporated to convert the track to a turf field striped for football that can also accommodate the soccer team for practices.

Three multipurpose rooms accommodate a variety of fitness classes, with one being used for meet management during competitions.
