The Acorn School at Vanderbilt University
Originally serving as the Presbyterian Student Center for Vanderbilt’s campus ministry, this building has been fully renovated to house the Vanderbilt Child Care Center. The facility includes three infant classrooms, three toddler classrooms, and two classrooms for two-year-olds.
The playscape is thoughtfully integrated into the L-shape formed by the existing building, maximizing both covered and open spaces. Designed for year-round use, it features a mix of traditional playground equipment, musical instruments, and natural play elements, encouraging engagement and inspiration.
At The Acorn School, learning through play is a core principle of the curriculum. The expanded space fosters creativity, exploration, and development for the children.
