Description
The Emerging Professional II supports project teams through collaborative design, document development, permitting, and construction administration while taking on increasing responsibility for leading portions of project design and coordination under the supervision of a licensed professional. This role also assists in meetings, BIM and consultant coordination, and site observations, while proactively identifying project needs and contributing solutions throughout all phases of development.
Responsibilities
- Engage in collaborative design/production and assist project team with various aspects of projects.
- Assist in the development of the project documents, assist in procuring permits, and construction administration.
- Lead the design and development of parts of projects, permitting, and contract administration with supervision by a registered/certified professional.
- Assist with leading weekly development and coordination meetings as they occur.
- Perform specific portions of assignments with responsibility for design, management, BIM coordination, consultant coordination and contract administration.
- Maintain all required learning institution documentation, reports, journals, portfolios, etc.
- Take initiative to identify project or firm needs and follow through in developing solutions.
- Work flow includes involvement in the following project tasks: Assist with conceptual project development (aka: concept drawings); Attend project programming meetings; Assist project manager with owner program validation and development; Support project manager with hand sketch conceptual site and elevation drawings; Support project manager and project architect with design development and construction documents (including redline revisions); Attend construction administration site meetings and support project manager with responding to contractor requests for information, shop drawing reviews and meeting notes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or closely related field or the foreign academic equivalent.
- Candidate must have at least two years of professional work experience that contributes to the required hours needed for the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), which is a mandatory program for architectural licensure.
- Any prior experience with BIM software (Archicad/Revit or any of the following: Sketch Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, Lady Bug, Sefaira, Equest, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.); and at least 2 years of experience with project workflow.
- Project workflow refers to the sequence of tasks and processes involved in completing a project, including planning, design, coordination, execution, and delivery, ensuring efficient progression from start to finish.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or closely related field or the foreign academic equivalent will be accepted. Must have been exposed to or used BIM software (Archicad/Revit or any of the following: Sketch Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, Lady Bug, Sefaira, Equest, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and project workflow during pursuit of Master’s degree through coursework or internships. Telecommuting permitted.
- Travel: Telecommuting permitted.
- Full Time - 40 hour week
