With more than 40 percent of Centre students competing in varsity athletics and over 80 percent participating in 15 intramural sports, additional competition and practice fields were in demand. The College selected GHC Architects for the field designs.

The Centre College Softball Field was built on the south end of campus. The natural surface facility includes irrigation, a nine-inning scoreboard, lights, press box, warning track around the entire field and sunk-in dugouts. Additionally, two batting cages and the home bullpen were built behind the third base dugout and the visitors’ bullpen is located behind the first-base dugout.

The South Campus Multipurpose Field was completed along with the Softball Field. It is the home field of Centre’s field hockey and women’s lacrosse and serves as a practice field for men’s and women’s soccer, as well as men’s lacrosse. The playing surface is synthetic turf.
