Hahnville Volunteer Fire Station Addition
The Hahnville Volunteer Fire Department was looking to expand the support spaces for their main fire station. The station originally contained two truck bays, radio room, bunk rooms and an office. We were tasked with adding to the building some 4,800 SF of program space all in one story. The new spaces included a large center meeting room for training and community events. Other spaces included a full kitchen, two private offices, one shared open office room and the fire chief’s office. Support spaces included restrooms, file storage and general storage.
Due to the design of the original building with tall truck bays with adjacent offices and bunk rooms above we were table to add the new program to the building by continuing the original roof slope down from the stacked offices and bunk rooms, creating a symmetrical roof line
